Saliza Abdullah

Saliza Abdullah is the Group Managing Director of BG Capital Holdings (BGCH). Founded as a family business in 1992, Saliza started her career in Berani Guard in 2001. Under her leadership, the company expanded from 70 to almost 500 employees with the establishment of key business ventures.

Being the only 100% women-owned security services company in Malaysia, Saliza founded BGCH For The Community in 2010, her company’s social entrepreneurship program. In the same year, Saliza was appointed as columnist for “AWAS WANITA” and had contributed more than 50 safety articles for WANITA magazine. In 2014, her project paper on youth community policing and mentoring program known as Fight Club had won the Alumni Engagement Innovative Fund (AEIF) 2014 from The US Department of State.

In 2006, Saliza received The NAWEM Women Entrepreneurs Award for Services Sector, followed by her nomination for The MICCI Malaysian Entrepreneurs Branding Award in 2007. In 2008, she became the youngest finalist for Utusan Karya’s Anugerah Wanita Ikon and The Great Women of Our Time Awards for Finance & Commerce by The Malaysian Women’s Weekly in 2010. A year later, she was named Top 10 Finalists for The JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award and in 2015, became the recipient of NCWO’s Anugerah Tokoh Wanita Muda.

Apart from running her business and social program, Saliza is life member of National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Malaysia (NAWEM) and serves as the VP Administration. Saliza also sits on the board of the Malaysia Security Services Association (PPKKM), as well as member of Asian Professional Security Association (APSA) and ASIS International (Malaysian Chapter). Saliza is a certified Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) Trainer.

Saliza obtained her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue University, USA in 2000 and MBA from Multimedia University, Cyberjaya in 2003.
