GENDER21

Dear Members,Dear Members,

Greetings!

The National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Malaysia (NAWEM) in partnership with The Asia Foundation (TAF), is implementing a one-year program on Promoting 21st Century Gender-Related Labour Laws in Malaysia, also known as GENDER21.

The GENDER21 project is intended to improve the quality of women’s labour force participation through the promotion of internationally recognized gender-related labour rights and domestic labour law and building the capacity of companies, trade unions and women’s organizations to support women in the workforce in Malaysia.

One of the key objectives of this project is to advance leadership opportunities for women and support them in taking advantage of better employment opportunities, particularly higher level and higher wage jobs. To achieve this objective, we need to raise the general public's’ awareness of gender stereotypes and encourage critical analysis when forming an understanding of our place in society. Inspiring young people in particular, to question gender stereotypes enables them to make informed choices about their futures and broaden their opportunities.

In line with this objective, we will be conducting six workshops on "Gender Sensitization at the Workplace" in 4 cities: Kuala Lumpur, Georgetown, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu starting from the 31st July 2017. The target audience for these workshops are Line Managers and Leads, HR and Union Reps, who are in a position to support women within the organization.

We seek your assistance to send several of your employees to attend the workshop. The attached flyer gives further details about the workshop and registration is via Eventbrite. The workshop is fully sponsored by TAF.

Thank you for your kind assistance.
