TABUNG AMAL NAWEM
Tabung Amal NAWEM (TAN) was set up in August 2000 to fulfil NAWEM’s social obligations by assisting the needy and less fortunate women in our society through the granting of funds and seed money to start a new business.
The principal objective of TAN is to enable economically challenged women to be financially independent through entrepreneurial endeavours.
TAN was established with initial donations and pledges amounting to RM20,000 from NAWEM members. The sum continues to grow with generous donations received over the past decade and more.
The Board of Trustees plans to continue its fund-raising efforts to put TAN on a firm financial footing before disbursement of funds. NAWEM has been granted the Tax Exemption Status under Section 44 6(B) of the Income Tax Act 1967 (effective from 1st January 2011 until 31st December 2015.)
